You enter Nicole's studio through her "BABEL" doors of glass and steel. Located in a former mill in
Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the studio is shared by her
dog, Ajax, welding equipment, an indoor swing, and
artworks in various stages of completion, including
its centerpiece: the 12-foot tall Angel. "This is not
a religious piece," Peskin says, "but the idea of a
person with the ability to fly -- the bird person --
it's such a great dream."
