What is BABELinc?
|
The primary philosophy behind Babelinc is the celebration and
participation in humanity's extraordinary ability to consistently
attempt to achieve order out of chaos. A great deal of my inspiration
comes from chaos. The chaos of the scrap yard, traffic, the constant
cacophony of cities and seashores, mechanics, mystics and pigeons. There
is music in it, and sculpture. I put two unrelated pieces of metal
together and I say here, this is a language and understanding is more of
an attitude than an ability.

While my work primarily involves steel, I confine myself to nothing and
often return to my roots in photography, set design, graphic arts and
craft. Even when working on commissions, I try as much as possible to
allow chance its place, so the end result is never what is expected and
is always better.
